I know it's been a while and I really wish I was posting better news.

Percy went to the bridge tonight. We thought he had a bladder infection, but it was a major blockage - we considered the surgery, but then found out there were serious renal complications, among other persistent health issues. We knew he hadn't felt good for sometime, and decided it was best to let him go. We're all just destroyed right now - I don't know what I'm going to do not seeing his sweet orange face everyday.

We hope to post some recent pics of him enjoying his garden later this week. I can honestly say these last few months he was living with my mom and got to go outside were probably his happiest. He caught his first bird and was just so pleased with himself, even though we weren't. It was a very bright spot in his dimming life.

He just wasn't well, and I know these last few weeks he was feeling even worse. We all did all we could for him, but tonight we all knew the best thing we could do was let his soul be free.

Sweet Percy - we'll always love you, and there will always be a Percy shaped piece of my heart that will never be filled again.

Just to let you guys know - we're all fine - we're just furry busy.

We're moving out of our house tomorrow and staying the night in a fancy hotel, and then the next day we're getting on an airplane. The we'll be in Catifornia with Percy.

We don't know whether to be excited our terrified. Keep us in your thoughts.

We hope to post more soon with lots of sunny Catifornia pics.

The Percy Report

Life here at Grandma's is pretty good. Being an only kitty is such a dream come true for me. I am spoiled beyond belief - I get all the pets and food my heart desires. No sharing. I did have to fly in plane to get here and that was no fun - but so worth it.

I have my very own window seat and my very own window in my very own room where I can watch the birdies and not have to share with anyone. From here I can also see some pretty good pet insurance quotes on the internet.

I have my very own kitty cube to hide in, but I don't have to hide because I don't have any mean sibling cats to chase me and scratch my pretty little nose.

I eat all my meals in bed, served by grandma - grandma makes the best food. Did I mention I don't have to share food?

I have my own woofie... her name is Daisy. She follows me a lot and is a bit annoying, but it's nice to be a pet owner.

Don't forget to enter the best fur sibling contest being held by my former sisfur Abbie. I am sponsoring an award for best only cat entry. It's a good thing I can't enter because I'd win for sure.

Oh and the weather in Catifornia is so nice - open windows everywhere. I bet my ex-brofur and sisfurs are so jealous!

Happy Sad News

I'm a little blue these days. I just found out my brofur Percy is moving to Catifornia in two weeks. Mom and dad are going there to visit and to look into the housing situation, and they're going to take him there ahead of the rest of us. Percy is going to get his dream, he's going to be an only cat - at least for a few months, before we all move in.

My grandma and Percy have always had a very special relationship, he loves her and she adores him to pieces. Grandma has been kind of lonely since our cousin Annie went to the bridge; she's nefur not had a cat before. Percy also has health issues, and grandma can make sure he eats what he's supposed to and takes all of his medicine without being bothered. And I admit, none of us are very nice to Percy. It's just that he runs, and we like to chase things that run. He's a little older than the rest of us, and he does not like to play the way we do. I love my brofur very much, and I want him to be happy more than anything, and I know this is best for him. I just wish it didn't make me so sad.

In April we're going to be all living together again for at least a year while dad finds a job, mom gets started with law school and they look for a house, but even then Percy will be grandma's cat, and when we leave, he will stay. Mom says when grandma goes on vacation Percy will come and stay with us and we'll still see him, but I can't believe I'm not going to be able to see him for three whole months. Percy was my cage mate when mom and dad came into the shelter to get us. I don't like to think much of the time before then, he's always been there for me. Have you ever been happy and sad at the same time?

Percy will always be our brofur, so don't worry, he will still be keeping efurrybody posted on our bloggie. It will just be grandma taking the pictures! Percy is sponsoring his award for the Best Fur Sibling of the Year award, but now it's going to be called the Percy B. Stephens-Dexter Only Cat Award.

We're thinking of having a going away party for Percy... I'm not too good of a party planner so I'll have to get Abbie involved.

100th Post!

Derby guessed it! We're moving to Catiforinia on April 22! We will be moving in with our grandma so mom can go to law school and we can save up for a house of our very own. We're very nervous and excited - we all have to go on a plane and we're a little worried Percy won't fit because he's a little on the heavy side, even with one toe less than the rest of us. So Derby, please email us you information and we will send your blanket off to you next week when it arrives.

Hi Guys!!! We've had enough sad news around the blogosphere, and we wanted to add some holiday cheer, especially with how nice effurryone was helping Percy through his surgery. We will be making our 100th post on January 1st, in honor of this milestone we have some surprises planned. The first of which is a contest. We have a major announcement for the new year - and the first person to guess this announcement will win a special blankie made by our grandma.

Hi efurrybody, Percy here. More good news! When they chopped on my toe they sent it off to be poked at. The poke doctors said that ALL the bad stuff was on the part they took off, so now only good stuff should be left on my foot. I sure am glad, because I like my foot. Right now it's not pretty so if you don't want to see, don't read any further!

Anyway, so I got a package in the mail the other day...

It had a lot of packing tape on it, so unwrapping it required some persistence...

A lot of persistence.

Okay I just got dad to open it. But he had a hard time too. But when I got it open, there was ANOTHER BOX. But there was a CATNIP TOY! I forgot about everything else

But then there were stickers, and mousies...

But then dad opened the other box, and...

And what the heck is that! It's like a tiny me.

I'm going to call it Percilla. Do you think it's a girl? I don't know, maybe it is a boy and it won't like that name.

Oh look at that! it must BE a boy. And it's got my name on it!

How weird... but very cool! Thank you Daisy Mae Maus's mom, it is the spitting image of me!

So mom and dad weren't here some of this weekend, they were on loan to The Cats P's kitties. We were so jealous! They were gone A LONG TIME. We almost had to send Eliot outside to work odd jobs so he could buy us some wet food. We were starving for hours. But then they came home and everything was fine. They say they had a very good time! I say they'd better not do that again... or else.

They won't get very far with scratched tires.

Thanks again to everyone who has sent their purrs while I am getting well after my surgery. I really really appreciate everyone who helped me!

[Percy's dad - Percy looks like he feels okay. He gets around well and the toe is starting to heal. The vet said it shouldn't affect his balance too much and it's very good that its an outside toe. He is putting all his weight on it like normal, and his appetite is good. We're very glad this is all over!]

Surgery Day

Percy has been dropped off for his surgery - dad took pictures at the vet and we will post them later this evening.

We will keep you updated as we hear news.

We also wanted to thank all of you for your purrs, your support, for everything.

All of you made this surgery possible. Percy might not be grateful at this exact moment, but when he's not licking at his paw because it bothers him, and he's all cancer free, I'm sure he'll be very grateful.

**UPDATE 1**
Surgery began at 10:30AM EST - it should last about 30 minutes. We will let you know how it goes. Please purr for Percy.

**UPDATE 2**
Percy is out of surgery, everything went well. He is currently purring up a storm, rubbing against the cage, and charming the vet techs.

**UPDATE 3**
Percy is home, hiding under the bed. He has to go back on Monday for a bandage change. Mom and dad are watching him carefully, but he seems to be doing very well and is even putting weight on his foot. He's all little drugged up right now, but said he'll make a post (with pictures) to all his furriends tomorrow.

Hi guys. I first want to thank effurrykitty fo all their support over the past few months. My wonderful grandma made a couple more blankets to help with green papers for my surgery. This time we're just going to have two raffles. I haven't been feeling so well with my infection, so Eliot was a nice brofur and helped model my blankets.

Goodbye Wednesday

This is our sisfur that we never got to meet... her name is Annie.

She owned my mom long before we ever knew her - she had been with my mom since she was 11 years old. My mom found her in the bushes the last Halloween trick-or-treating - she stayed the night and just never left. Annie is furry old. My mom thought long and hard about Annie when it came time to move in with my dad, but Annie never accepted change well - it often made her very sick because she stressed out so much - so my mom let her stay and live with our grandma. Grandma took wonderful care of Annie - made her eat when she didn't want to and definitely gave her a very long and full life and lots of love when my mom was not there to give it to her. Annie will go to the bridge later today. It's time, she's tired and can't walk and just wants to rest. I know someday she'll be waiting for us when it's our time to go - and we can share stories of life with mom.

My mom is very sad tonight.

Until we meet again over the rainbow bridge Annie - goodbye.

UPDATE:

First we'd like to thank Skeezix for the lovely tribute at the top - it meant a lot to our mom.

Second, we wanted to let you know what the vet said when she came over to help Annie to the bridge - she said Annie appeared to be in severe kidney failure and also she felt several masses in her abdomen, which she suspected was probably cancer. Annie was in a lot of pain and was probably grateful to be let go - the vet said she was probably only holding on for grandma's sake.

We would very much like to thank everyone for their condolences - we are very grateful for all of you.

Mancat Monday

I have the blues.

I have to go back to the vet this morning. My mom found a lump on my head that made her all teary eyed and, as you can see, my infection isn't clearing up. What's a man cat to do when his luck is down?

Abbie here with a Percy Update: The vet said she definitely feels a lump, but she's not sure what it is. Given the fact that it is so close to the bone, she would have to sedate him in order to x-ray and biopsy. Since Percy's infection is clearing up, the vet said that Percy could schedule his surgery and during his surgery she could x-ray and, if necessary, biopsy the new bump. Unfortunately this will add to the cost of his current surgery. There is a chance this is simply inflammation and the bump could clear up on it's own; mom and dad scheduled the surgery for Friday, November 21 to allow for this. Please keep us in your purrs.

I like to sleep on the couch on dreary days - that way if a bird happens to stop by the feeder I won't miss it.

Mom gave me a pawdicure - see my pretty pink nails. I don't like it much - it's so hard to get my claws into things now.

Of course we can't have a toesday without mentioning Percy. Percy's lump has begun to grow back, we had the surgery scheduled for October 24 but have since had to take the surgery off the books. Percy has acne that has gotten infected and they don't want to do the surgery until his infection clears up. At this point mom is hoping to get the surgery in right before Thanksgiving so she can stay home and keep an eye on him. Grandma made more blankets to try to help close the gap between what my mom and dad have saved and what we earned. They haven't been able to save much more as mom has been diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease and has had to go to the doctor a lot lately and get lots of new medicines. Hopefully we'll have a raffle up this weekend or next. We really want to thank everyone for their purrs for Percy - please keep your paws crossed that we're able to clear up his infection and get him that surgery before his paw gets any bigger.

Fluffy Friday

I love my brofur - he's fun to lay next to, give and get baths from and most of all he's fun to wrestle. We're two of a kind - being that we're both fluffy and adorable.

We have thought long and hard and debated over it, and these are our decisions in who to give our award to only four cats, since there's only four of us (sorry for breaking the rules). We just wanted to be fair and give everyone their say...

Hi effurrybody,

Percy here. We are still sending out thank yous to everybody who donated/bought a raffle ticket, but if you haven’t gotten one from us yet, THANK YOU!! We are so grateful for everybody who has helped us, whether it was by buying a ticket, advertising the raffle or anything else you did. Winners, we received all the addresses and will be shipping out the blankets this weekend.

We raised A WHOLE LOT of green papers! Which is over half of what our vet quoted for the surgery. Way to go! We are thinking about a date next month for the appointment.

Speaking of that, I had to go to the V-E-T today anyway. We tried a new place near our new apartment and it’s so much closer than our old vet, which is really good because I HATE the car. Anyway, we are going to get a quote for the surgery from her too, since she is really nice (for a vet). Maybe it will be less green papers! As you can see, I'm napping with my brofur Eliot to help me get over the trauma. He's such a good brofur sometimes.

The Great Percy Toe Raffle

With dad going back to school, my family is having a hard time coming up with the money for my cancer surgery. So, my wonderful grandma made me four fleece blankets. When they first came I was so excited because I thought they were all for me and I could sleep on them in every room, but the note said they were to raffle off to earn money for my surgery. I have to admit, I'm not excited about my surgery, but it sure was nice of grandma to think of me.

My brofur and sisfurs helped me model the blankets. I thought I would begin by showing you what my foot will look like after my surgery so you can better visualize my goal:

First up, the blanket we call the Eliot, because it has a blue backing that is his favorite color:

Percy Update

Hi efurrybody, Percy here. Just wanted to keep you updated on how I'm doing. My weight is doing a lot better since Mom and Dad switched me to a new kitty food that I really like. I eat food now... lots. Not throwing up any either. While I'm not looking forward to losing my toe (oh no!), I am planning to have the surgery by October to remove the toe and hopefully stop worrying about the cancer for good.

Dad is going to be starting school soon to learn how to make computers do things, but he is going to have to quit working where he's at now in order to do that. Mom and dad were worried about the expenses for my surgery, so I told them to just not worry about it and I would keep my toe. But Grandma said she was going to make me some blankets and we could raffle them off and hopefully raise some money to save up for the surgery that way. Gee thanks, Grandma. We will have pictures of the blankets and raffle details next Sunday.

That's all for now. Right now things are looking better than they have. I'm still a little scrawny (for me).

Hi Guys,

It's me, Eliot. I'm here to update you on my brofur. First please excuse the mess behind me, we moved to a house recently and we love it! Windows galore and we can sit in them as much as we want - it's pawsome. We'll have more pics soon I promise. Grandma and Grandpa were here to help us move - and mom and dad have been super busy at work. We're hoping things will slow down the middle of next month.

Well, the Percy situation isn't good, but it might not be bad. He's going to see a new regular vet (not his cancer surgery vet) this Friday. Since his surgery in April he's lost 4.5 pounds. Mom got a good glimpse of him the other day and just started crying because he was so thin. I can't even call him fat boy anymore. The good news is the vet that will do his surgery in October really doesn't think it's cancer related. On Friday they will probably steal his bloods to learn more. The bright side is that dad thinks he maybe just didn't like his food. We got a sample bag of Purina Naturals and while mom was packing up our room to move Percy got in and ripped the bag open. He's very interested in food still, he just stopped eating so much of his. The more bad news is he has been barfing a lot lately - it's gross, but he has always been a little barfy because he inhales his food. Mom and dad went and bought a big bag of the Purina and Percy has been eating more. He isn't acting sick - he's more playful than ever. Dad is hoping that maybe he was sick of his old food and was suddenly more active and maybe that caused him to drop the pounds - better safe than sorry though.

We will keep you guys posted but for now I need to go snuggle with my brofur. Thanks for all your well wishes.

V-E-T Update

Hey efurrybody, Percy here in my new slippers from Zoey at Zoolatry. Since lots of people have been asking about me, I made Dad sit down long enough to help me write a post about how my V-E-T troubles have been going.

I don't have to have surgery right now... the V-E-T said it was OK if we wait for a little while to see if the thingy on my paw grows back and if it does then they will know more about it. All of us are furry furry busy getting ready to move to a new house and I don't think mom and dad want me to have to be moved with a sore foot. After we get moved, then they'll be operating on it again in a couple months. I heard them say they're going to take MY WHOLE TOE off this time. This is kind of scary, but when you think about it what are toes good for anyway? I have 20 of them, it's not like I don't have spare if I ever DO need one.

Surgeries are good for dieting. I have lost a whole pound since my last surgery. I feel a lot better and like to play a lot more often. So I'm hoping that if I have to lose a toe, and that's what it sounds like, then at least I will lose the WEIGHT of the toe, and maybe a couple of pounds in addition.

All considered, it's not so bad right now. I'm not really looking forward to going back to the V-E-T, but with any luck this will be the last time.

What the V-E-T Said

I went to see a specialist about my toe. She gave mom and dad a piece of paper that has all the information about my cancer. It has a lot of big fancy words, so I'll just copy the important stuff for you.

"Percy presented for further evaluation of an incompletely excised neurofibrosarcoma. These are malignancies but rarely spread beyond the area of local growth. The problem is completely removing the cancerous cells and this is more of a problem when the lesions are on the feet and legs. These tumors can send tendrils of cells beyond the area of the original growth that complicate the removal. Since they are relatively slow growing, so they are not very sensitive to chemotherapy. You can have radiation therapy to try to clean up stray cells if further surgery is not an option. The first recommendation for tumors like this is to repeat the surgery to try to get all the affected tissue. It is important to be aggressive with the surgery to try to get all the abnormal cells since that can cure the tumor and with each successive surgery it can become more difficult to remove what is abnormal. In some cases, we eventually recommend amputation of the leg id we cannot control the mass.

I recommend Percy have surgery to amputate the affected toe in and attempt to remove all the remaining affected tissue."

On the way to vet, I wanted to show mom and dad how angry I was, so I peed all in my carrier. Guess what they did to me when I got there? THEY GAVE ME A BATH!!! If that wasn't awful enough, when I got home all my sisfurs and brofor came and sniffed me forever. I liked the vet though, she was nice. She told me that she always wanted a big fat orange cat like me, and while I resent being called fat, I can't fault her for wanting a fabulous cat like myself.

So if looks like another surgery for me. I don't want to, but I know it's best. Mom and dad are still talking about when it will happen. I don't want to lose my toe, I happen to like it very much.

Hi efurrybody! This is Percy. I'm just dropping by to say thank you to Millie's mom and ML, because I got a be-yootiful Gizzy in the mail the other day. It's so pretty! It is on my favorite spot on the bed by the front window and I lay on it every day. Thank you so much for it! It's coming with me tomorrow on my V-E-T trip... ::shudder::. We are consulting with a new V-E-T that specializes in what I have. My paw still looks pretty good, still normal-sized, no signs of it getting bigger. I'll keep you posted on how everything's going. Thank you again for the Gizzy!

Mommy has been working furry hard with the new Cat Friends Helping Friends organization. Check it out here! It's a furry good organization that helps out blogging kitties when it is hard for the kitties' people to feed kitties and send them to the V-E-T too. I say just don't send them to the V-E-T and problem solved! But mommy doesn't seem to agree. Oh well.

I am OK for now...

... but do I LOOK OK to you?! This was about a couple weeks ago. Oh, it's been terrible! First they covered up my paw and I couldn't really walk straight cos of the thing covering my paw up, and that was all right because I just figured out how to unwrap my paw and everything was okay except my paw freakin' hurt, and there was all these little blue strings I couldn't pull off of where my cancer was, &c. But then dad kept covering and recovering my paw, but I'd just wait til they left and shake my foot and bite the covering until it came off, so that was all right, but THEN dad took me back to the V-E-T and they super-covered my paw so that no matter how much licking I did, I couldn't pull off the covering. And then worst of all--DAD WRAPPED MY HEAD IN PLASTIC. I know! Mom made him take it off cos she said it was not nice. It was awful.

Anyway, they uncovered my paw and took the strings out and my footsie feels a lot better than it did. My paws are the same size again! Yay!

Mom and Dad made an appointment for me at a new V-E-T in a couple weeks, so I'm not out of the woods yet--still more having to go outside. But at least it's not cold out anymore, and I'm kind of getting used to it. There's birds.

I just want to thank everyone for your cards and purrs and everything you have all said and done for me and my family. We are really grateful for all of you beans and kitties. Mom and Dad and me will post some more specifics later, we just wanted to update you on everything that has been going on since everyone has been stopping by and saying hi. With my paw so hurty, it's hard to type those keys, and Mom and Dad are so busy, but we owe lots of people some big thank yous and to everyone who has stopped by and left purrs we do want to say we really appreciate the support you've given.

Furious Friday

As for the V-E-T, me and my family are grateful we will not have to deal with her anymore. I wish I could tell each of you how much I really appreciate all the kind words. Thank you to Daisy, The Taylor Catssss, the Zoolatry kitties' mom, Skeezix and everyone for everything you have said and done for us, it has really been a comfort. --Percy

I'm ok - I'm getting lots of rest. I have my own room and I don't have share my food or litterbox with any of my brofurs or sisfurs. I'm a little lonely, but I get tons of attention when mom and dad get home from day hunting. They have been sad and I don't really understand why.

Percy's Mom here - unfortunately the news from the vet has not been good and we're not taking it very well. The biopsy came back as non-metastasized nerve sheath sarcoma. After we were told this, we got the worst news of all, she did not remove all the tumor in the first surgery. She anticipates the tumor to regrow and he will likely lose two of his toes. We are in the process of getting a second opinion. We are also incredibly furious. We wanted to chose the path of the least amount of vet visits for our boy. He hates the vet and gets so very upset. So when faced with our options to biopsy, then move forward or to go ahead and remove all the lump then biopsy, we opted to remove all of the lump then biopsy. We understood at the time this meant he may lose a toe. We were so relieved when he was able his toe and she didn't tell us until she let us know what his biopsy results were that she had failed to remove all of the tumor. We're furious and devastated that this is just the beginning of things to come for our boy. I'm not really sure what to think of the vet at this point, did she just make a bad decision that was completely opposite of how she told us she would proceed, did she assume it wasn't cancer so she tried to keep his toe? If that was going to be the case maybe she shouldn't have pressured us into surgery so quickly and have disclosed more to us before we put him through this. We made our decision based on the fact that regardless of what the lump was, it could have grown back and caused him discomfort, so I wanted it completely removed, in one swoop. At the same time I really can't help but feel she's a little greedy, she charged us for quite a few extras that were never listed on the quote, and however necessary they were, it seems that she should have included them as they were completely foreseeable. We have our Emily on a very expensive asthma treatment and we didn't really flinch in front of the vet when faced with the cost of the surgery - in some ways I kind of feel as though she's trying to take advantage of the fact that we want what is best for our cats regardless of cost. All I really know, is we need a new vet, and the next few months will be full of difficult decisions. Please keep my boy in your thoughts and we will keep you posted as much as we can. Thank you for all your purrs, I wish I had better news.

Mancat Monday

1. If you didn't see me in the previous post, I like to sleep in the bed. IN the bed. Literally, inside mom and dad's old bed. I ripped a hole in the underside and crawl into the empty space between the box springs and the bottom of the bed. It's like my own kittie hammock. I scared mommy and daddy real bad the first time I did this because they couldn't find me anywhere. hehe

2. I meow really loudly when mom or dad is in the shower. They like water! It's weird and upsetting.

3. I meow really loudly period. Like other cats times ten.

4. I like to grab you if you're not paying me any attention. But I do it very slowly, so you can dodge if you don't want me to scratch you. I don't want to hurt you... I just need your attention.

5. I am the biggest cat in the house, but I am the scardiest. Emily, Abbie, and Eliot all chase me and I just run and never fight back because I'm a scardy cat. But don't tell them that, it'll only make it worse!

6. I lick glossy magazines. I lick them until I tear a hole in the page and eat little pieces of paper. I'm not sure why I do this. I just look down sometimes and there is a big hole in a glossy magazine. It's never a book or a newspaper. Just glossy magazines. It's kind of creepy. I have no idea why my tongue does that. I guess it thinks color pictures are tasty.

7. One of my toes is bigger than all the others. We don't know why and I heard mom and dad say I was going to the V-E-T on Friday to make it go away. I'm scared.

[Dad here. Percy will have surgery for a bump on his toe on Friday. They may have to amputate his toe at worst. Let's hope it's nothing that serious. There is a possibility they can just take off the bump. Best case is it's something that won't grow back. It doesn't seem to be hurting him, but it doesn't seem comfortable either. At least it will be over soon!]

Saturday Woes

Hi guys. I'm sorry I haven't posted the 7 Weird Things About Me meme yet, but I plan on doing it for Man Cat Monday. I had an awful day today. My parents woke up this morning and decided to torture me. They took out the PTUs. I ran and hid, but unfortunately after an hour they found me. They infiltrated my secret hiding spot, took me against my will, and shoved me into the PTU while I meowed in horror. They then put me in the shiny thing with wheels and drove FOREVER! Hours and hours! Hours later, we stopped and got out of the shiny thing and went into this very smelly building. Ther were dogs there! We sat in a small room FOREVER. Then they made mom go away and bring some papers she wasn't very happy about having to go get. Then finally they took me into a back room and stuck me with a sharp thing. Then they poked at my paw and said it looked funny! And Dad said it looked funny too! I'm mad at Dad. They put something up my butt! Today was an awful day. Oh yeah, Emily was there too.

I'm writing this post from inside the bed.

I'm not coming out, because I hear that they're going to use BIGGER needles on me if my foot isn't better in a couple of weeks. Of course, if mom and dad can't find me then the can't give me medicine and I can't get better. But maybe it will just go away on it's own. I guess I'll have to come out to get food though, every hour or two. But then I'm going right back in. Send your purrayers my way, please, so I don't have to go back to the V-E-T!!

7 Weird Things About Emily

Hi efurryone (especially you Shamy<3). I have been helping out around the house a lot lately, so it's taken me a while to get to this meme that Gree tagged us for. So here are seven weird things about me, Emily:

1. I pray, a lot, whenever I want something I put my paws together and pray for it.

2. Bed time is the best time and I get very excited about it. Sometimes mom and dad will just go sit in the bed and I'll run in and ask if it's bed time. I sleep in the bed with them all night and I hardly disturb them at all anymore. I'm kind of obsessed with my spot on the bed and sometimes my beans will leave me in the morning and I won't move an inch all day; they will come home and I'll be in the exact same spot. The only other place I might consider sleeping is in or on the suitcase, I love the suitcase!
3. I have asthma. I guess it's not weird, but I have to take medicine at least every other day or I get attacks. Mom and dad said they are going to get me an asthma mask at my annual check up in two weeks - I don't think I'll like a mask.
4. I almost never meow, I almost never make any noise. So if I meow you know it's serious. Not like Eliot who talks all the time and no one takes anything he says seriously. Sometimes I will chatter if I see a bird or a bug, but that's rare.

5. I love to wrestle with my brofur Eliot - but he's the only one I'll wrestle with. I like to play chase with Abbie, but I don't like to get close to her, I really don't even like her to touch me like when she tries to snuggle me on Sundays. I love to chase Percy, but we all do - it makes him cranky, it's so funny.
6. I go nuts if you turn a flashlight on the ceiling. I twist my head all around and chatter, I almost look like I'm having a seizure, then when you lower the light, I'll throw myself at the wall. Mom doesn't let dad do this anymore.
7. Nothing scares me, not even the big, loud purple sucky machine.

7 Weird Things About Eliot

Hi guys! Sorry it took me so long to make a post, but I've been very busy lately trying to make a Valentine for my girlfriend Lucy. I want it to be purrfect like her.

So as my sisfur said, we were tagged by Gree for the seven weird things about you meme.

Here's my list:

I give kisses. My mom taught me that. She picks me up everyday when she gets home from work and tells me hello and then gives me a kiss and puts me down. Now when mom or dad makes a kissy sound, I walk up and give them a kiss.
I have some anxiety issues. Sometimes if I see something new on the floor, it startles me, I jump and then I paw at it until I know it’s safe. I even do this with toys.
If I want attention and you ignore me I’ll climb up your leg and pet myself with your hand.
I really want to go outside, but not to catch lizards or anything – I just want to roll around on the cement. It feels so good when I escape every once in a while.
I have an intense love hate relationship with my brofur, Percy, that I was adopted with. Sometimes, I will viciously chase him down and put the bitey on him to show him I’m boss and other times I’ll go hang out with him under the bed so he’s not lonely. Just depends on my mood that day.
I love shoes! Half the reason I greet mom at the door, aside from the fact that she picks me up and tells me she loves me, is that she takes off her shoes right away and I get to stick my head in them and roll around with them.
I sleep on my back most of the time. It’s just so comfy to stretch out my furs this way. Mom always tells me I’m trying to make her jealous, because if I didn’t greet her at the door I am sleeping in her spot all stretched out on my back.

Hi efurryone! I wanted to update you on the progress of the prizes my contest and also Gree of HOT(M)BC tagged all of us for a meme – I’m going today and my brofurs and sisfur will go later in the week.

Well I was able to mail out half the prizes last week, but for overseas packages mom has to actually go to the post office during operating hours, so Kashim, MoMo – your prizes will go out this weekend – I promise! I was also delayed in getting Tara’s address for her prize, so Tara, expect it in about 2 weeks! Donations have gone out to the specified causes, as requested by each winner and project HAM has also received their contribution from the 35 entries we had! I’d also like to thank efurryone for helping make my contest a success. I hope to have it again next year with so many new cats joining the blogosphere!

Now let’s get down to the meme – 7 Weird Things About Me – Abbie

I bite feet, especially if you’re in the kitchen. Mom calls me jaws because you see a flash of tail, then I bump you, then I bite. But not hard – they are love “PAY ATTENTION TO ME” bites. If you still do not pay attention to be I will attempt to climb you like you are a cat tree.
Usually, I only like the juice of stinky goodness. I lick all mine up then I make Emily move so I can lick hers too. This is in exception to Elegant Medley’s night – those are just YUMMY and I eat them all up.
I am very usual looking – I am duck legged – my back legs kind of come in and then my feets point out.
Daddy also says I look like a ferret – my body is very long and low to the ground and my tail goes on forever. Sometimes when I sit next to mommy when she’s taking a bath I don’t even know my tail is in the bath water.
If you’re eating something I want to know what it is, I don’t want any, but I will not stop trying to get to your plate until I get to smell it.
I like to hug legs when I snuggle with mom and dad, I wrap my paws around their legs and purr. I also have to be on their lap just right and will adjust myself 1000 times before I settle down.
I start fights with my brofur Eliot, he doesn’t want to fight but I’m so mean and persistent he has to! And then I cry like he’s hurting me. Mom and dad no longer buy this, but it did work on Grandma when she came to visit.

I haven’t lived here but for a year and there’s one thing that I already know fur sure… I love my brofurs and sisfur. Emily is so awesome to play chase with. She runs so fast I can never efur catch her. She has azma, so momma gets mad when I chase her so much she loses her breath. Eliot is really great to give me baths, he’s a super sweet brofur, he doesn’t even seem to mind that I always want to bunny kick his face. And Percy is super fun to aggravate. So in honor of all my wonderful siblings, I would like to announce The Sibling of the Year contest. Hi efurrybody! Today I wished daddy good luck on his job interview. I waited until he got all ready to go out of the door and then I gave him a big good luck tail hug on his leg. I don't know why, but he didn't seem too happy about it.

Anyway, while nobody was looking, I decided it would be a lot of fun to get up on the top of our new kitchen stuff and play Queen of the Kitchen. But then Emily thought that would be a good idea too. And so did Eliot, even though he's a boy! So this happened:

Percy actually came out from behind the bed today. He loves the new tent Grandma got for us! She's the best grandma ever!

Furry Friday

Sorry we haven't been able to post anything lately--we've been so busy helping mommy and daddy move into our new home! We've been arranging our fur-niture. Doesn't it look nice?

The new carpet has TONS of room to stretch out on!

Oh my gosh we have so much to tell you guys, we've been thrown in a car, had to be stuck in our cages for eight hours, Eliot figured out the lock on his PTU, we had to sleep in a hotel and then we got here. Our place is so big I haven't even finished flopping down in each spot, and there's so many windows. Mom and dad have had a few mishaps so we've been super busy purring for them. We'll post pictures in a few days when things get more settled. We can't wait for you guys to teleport over!

Wedding Wednesday/Emily's Party Plans

Next Tuesday our mom and dad are making us lee-jit-uh-mit - THEY ARE GETTING MARRIED!

They will be leaving Saturday for California, and they did not invite us! Humpf! They tell us that we are the most important thing to them and then they leave us for TEN WHOLE DAYS and we can't even go see them get married? They said they are e-loping, and no one is coming, but I still think we should be able to go - we're they're babies!

So, to rebel like any good kitties should - we are having a 10-day wedding bash while they are gone. Teleport on over starting Saturday and prepare to party. There is a pet sitter who stops by so you may need to dart under the bed for a bit, but he's just here to open the fancy feast.

Thursday Thirteen Daddy Edition

Well, we're a week behind, but this week our TT is about DADDY!!!

1. Daddy works at a fort, the biggest fort in the whole country. He does data entry and is not allowed to play with the guns.

2. Daddy just got a duh-gree in English from the University of South Carolina. He gots all dressed up like Harry Potter to get it for some reason.

3. Daddy grew up in a teeny tiny town. He lived in a trailer! That's kind of like a shoebox, but not as nice or fun. Mom pretends he didn't.

4. He's in a club with the President. He says he means the last lej-it-amit president, whatever that means. It's called Fi betta cappa. Is that like betta fish?

5. He's too thin to give blood.

6. But he played football. Kind of.

7. Now that he graduated, he is happy that he will actually have time to read all the things that he was supposed to read for class.

8. His favorite writer is Terry Pratchett, who he says is a science fiction and fantasy writer. I don't think he read that in a class.

9. A little while ago he left us FOR A WHOLE MONTH to go to Cambridge to study. He said he kept looking for "Hawking". I think he meant some kinda bird. He got to come home early because he couldn't take any toothpaste on his plane.

10. Emily thinks his lap is great. She likes to jump in it and cuddle when he's typing at the computer.

11. Abbie likes to nibble on his toes the best because he always lets her have her fill of toe.

12. Eliot loves when Daddy cleans the litterbox, and he stalks around until Daddy leaves so that he can use it first!

13. But I'm his favorite (don't tell the others!) because I keep his feet warm every night! I love sleeping on my Daddy's feet and I know he loves us a lot.

Mom and dad spent all day Saturday in bed with us kitties to celebrate... so I'd like to use my midnight Monday to honor my wonderufl sisfur Emily. She's so much fun, I really like to chase her. Thursday Thirteen Edition 4: The Bride

We've enjoyed learning about Skeezix's people so much that we wanted to share about our people. Since our mom and dad decided to finally legitimize us and tie the knot next month, we'll make it a countdown to the wedding. So this Thursday Thirteen will be about mom with four more Thursday Thirteens to go before they get hitched.

1. She did ballet when she was a little girl. She said she's glad she quit because she isn't very good at not eating. And her leaps looked like hops.

2. She was a cheerleader in high school and she was captain her senior year until she got really sick, missed a whole bunch of school and was told she couldn't cheer because she didn't have any grades. She had mono-nu-clee-oh-sus and her immune system hasn't been the same since. She still gets strep at least three times a year and catches anything anyone has.

3.She is from a place all the way on the other side of the world called California. She lived in the same house since she was born until she came to live with daddy (and when she went to college).
4. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She said when she lived at school she lived right next to the beach and the sea lions barking often kept her up at night. We know she has to be lying 'cuz lions don't bark, they roar, Emily saw it on Animal Plant.

5. She is really allergic to spider bites and makes daddy kill every spider he sees so it doesn't bite her and kill her, or have babies that may bite her and kill her.

6. She was a vegetarian for 6 years when she was younger, she finally broke down at a get together with friends at a steak house when her friend told her that if a cow could, it would eat her. She is almost ready to become a vegetarian again and she really doesn't like meat. She's crazy. She does make all of her food from scratch though, and it's very tasty. She mainly cooks Italian. You guys should come over for dinner sometime.

7. She is what daddy calls "liberal for a liberal" but that's ok because she comes from California and they are like that over there. Mom calls it being "progressive."

8. She has had at least one cat her entire life. She also usually has a dog. She is a hardcore animal lover and cries when she sees an animal hit by a car or without a home. Dad says if it was up to her we would be a shelter. Mom thinks every animal deserves love and a home of their own.

9. She just became a certified paralegal. She will soon be leaving her job to seek paralegal work. She hates her job, she doesn't like working for someone that she knows she is smarter than. She's in the middle of trying to get into law school. Right now she has dropped out of the current round to try to get a better LSAT score to get more money from the schools that accepted her this time or maybe even into her dream school University of Richmond. She says she wants to defend the environment, whatever that means.

10. She reads Vogue and Vanity Fair and makes fun of the way daddy dresses. She often tells him he can't go outside wearing what he's wearing because she reads Vogue and it's not kosher. She is also a celebrity gossip addict; it's a habit she picked up in college when she was so tired of finding meaning in everything she just wanted to read something that had no value or interpretation. This is Percy's favorite thing about her because after she reads the magazines he licks them, sometimes he doesn't even wait until she's done.

11. She has very strange sleeping habits. She wakes up a bajillion times in the night, but it's ok because she pets us when she does. Sometimes she goes days without sleeping, we tell her to just take a nap already but she says she just can't. She also has times when she wakes up all cold and sweaty screaming and crying from something daddy calls night terrors. We all have to run and let her pet us so she can forget what made her so scared and fall back asleep. She even sees things that aren't there, she'll jump up from trying to fall asleep and make daddy look for whatever she saw until she realizes it wasn't real. I looked it up on Wikipedia, it's called hypogognic hallucinations. She has a real hard time sleeping after that happens.

12. Right now she's on a diet because she doesn't exactly fit into her wedding dress, but she believes it will happen. We like to help out by doing bad things and getting her to chase us.

13. She always puts us first and makes sure we're taken care of. She buys us the best food she can find, always brings home toys, grows us grass and nip. She's just the bestest most greatest mom we could ever ask for and we love her very much.

Abbie:

1. I have a foot fetish! I love toes! I love to bite toes and ankles! I nibble them gently but mom says it tickles. And it's weird.

2. I sleep in the kitchen almost all the time. I also help mommy cook and help dad wash the dishes. See? My sisfur is under the door.

3. When I go to wash my foot I don't sit down and hold my leg up, I lay on my back and bring my foot to my mouth like a bear.

4. I can't resist a tail. If anyone moves their tail at all I must swat them.

5. I like to reach for things I want. If you were just out of reach and I wanted you to pet me, I'd roll onto my back and very slowly stretch out my paw to you over and over until you pet me.

6. Just after mom and dad got me, mom had a bad fall and got a concussion. I was by her side while she was assigned to bed rest. I haven't slept in mom and dad's bed since.

7. I like to take the rubber bands off the cabinet in the bathroom that is banded for our safety and hide them.

Eliot:

1. I am smart. I totally understand doors and other complicated things. I like to figure things out and I'm learning to do tricks. So far I can sit when they tell me to. I get treats. Speaking of treats,

2. I am treat obsessed. I will run for miles when I hear a treat bag open. Also, I inhale my treats so I can attempt to steal the other kitties' treats when it's treat time.

3. My nose is perfectly heart-shaped. I have the softest sweetest mew which I use in long sentences composed of lots of short mews.

4. I am a momma's boy. Every day when mommy gets home, I run to great her so she can pick me up and tell me how pretty I am, give me a kiss and put me down. On days when I have other things to do, I let her pick me up, but as soon as she does I kiss her so that she will put me down. I also come to her in the mornings and nibble her hand if she doesn't pet me right away.

5. I use my paws to investigate everything. You will often find me pawing new things I find and concentrating very hard to figure out what they are and if they need to die. My favorite things to paw and kill are shoes.

6. I love bouncy balls and will run towards the bounce whenever I hear the sound.

7. Most of the time I just wrassle with my two sisters. I prefer to wrassle with Abbie because Emily bunny kicks my face. However, when Percy and I wrassle, it's for dominance and mom and dad always break up the wrasslin'.

Emily:

1. I pray all the time. Before meals I pray that it's extra good. I pray that I can get out the windows and get the birds. Whenever I want anything, I get on my hind legs and put my front paws together and pray.

2. Eliot won't wrassle with me much anymore because every time he does, I go right into bunny kicks. I even scratched his eye once and he had to go to the vet to get the green stuff in his eye.

3. When we get new food, I sniff, then I get some on my paw and try it.

4. I almost never meow. The only times I meow are when I'm really unhappy (like at the vet when she puts her hand in places that it doesn't belong) or mostly I meow to compete with Abbie when mommy's making dinner. I have to tell mom I want some too. I whimper and
whine, but I hardly ever meow.

5. I wake mommy up at least twice a night to get pets. I used to try to wake daddy up, but he's a super sound sleeper. She wakes up and rubs my head a little. It's not much, but it's better than nothing. I also sit with my mom when she takes her bath at night, we gossip about boys!

6. I try to bury my food in the carpet after I finish eating. So far, this has not worked well.

7. I go crazy for the whirly-bird. I do flips off the bed. I'd do anything to catch it and I growl when I finally get it and someone tries to take it from me. I would break my neck to finally get that stupid bird on a string. I also go nuts for the laser light and run to daddy when I hear him pick it up.

Percy:
1. I am a jealous cat. When we snuggle on the weekends with mom and dad, if someone else is getting more attention, my leg starts to twitch, I meow real loud, then I go to put the dominate bite on whoever is getting more pets.

2. If you scratch my back behind my tail, I scrunch up my face and if you keep doing it, I have to wash my shoulders until you stop. I don't know why, I just have to.

3. I have a very loud and obnoxious meow. I don't use it very often, but when I do, you better pay attention to me.

4. I love to lay on pants. I refuse to lay on any other article of clothing, but if you leave pants anywhere where I can lay then it is time for a nap.

5. For the first 8 months after mom and dad got me I almost never left the bedroom. I slept on daddy's legs all night and he couldn't move. Now I mainly hang out in the front room, I love my condo...

6. I have inverted nipples.

7. I lick glossy magazines. I recently licked a hole in one of dad's school publications because I licked for so long. Mom and dad hate this, but when they turn their backs I look for something to lick.

5 Reasons We Love Our Mommy - By Eliot

Hi everybody! Sorry we haven't posted fur a while, everything around here has been very busy. Dad got something called a duh-gree and he had to dress up like a wizzard. What's a wizzard? It must be funny because it made mommy laugh. (He did look pretty funny though.)

So today is Mo-furs Day! I talked to Emily and Percy and Abbie and we came up with five reasons we love mommy!

1. Mommy gives us food--she makes sure we get the good kind that won't hurt kitties, even though I heard that isn't easy now.

2. Mommy gives Emily pets, even when it's dark outside and she headbumps her hand when she's sleeping.

3. Mommy fixes Percy's booboos, even though he doesn't want to take the icky medisins.

4. Abbie says she loves Mommy cause she puts up with her toe nibbles and even says that's cute!

5. I think Mommy has the best tummy to make biscuits on, and she always lets me knead her, no matter what.

We have the bestest Mommy efur!!! Happy Mo-furs Day!

Monday Mews

I realize Monday is usually Abbie's deal but there's a lot going on around here and she's way to spastic to stop and tell you...

Mom and dad came to a decision. Mom is going to wait and take the LSAT one last time and then apply to law school again next year. They decided a good place to live would be in the middle of the east coast so they could easily move next year. We will be moving to Richmond in the begining of July. This brings about a big problem for mom and dad - they have to rent as they do not want to be unable to unload a house in a year if we move again, but most 'partments only allow for 2 cats in Richmond. I mean, we're all going, mom and dad are going to have to lie, but mom is awful worried about what will happen if we are found out. Any cats out there in similar situations?

So, in even bigger news WE GOT A WHIRLEY BIRD TOY AND IT IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER EVER HAPPENED TO US EVER! So we've been furry busy chasing it around. I had no idea my life was so empty until that little whirl whooshed by my ear and filled the void.

A special note to my Shamy - it was so nice snuggling with you on my tree this weekend. I hope you stop by more often!

My toes are so fluffy you can hardly tell that I have toes!

Percy and I would like to thank everyone for their gotcha day wishes. We feel furry lucky to have found such a wonderful home and such a warm mom and dad to sleep on.

Mom and dad having been talking about our future a lot lately and what they are going to do. It's not looking as though mom is going to get into the schools she wanted and she feels that maybe she rushed things and should take another year to apply. Dad wants her to go for it now, why waste another year not doing what you want, right? Mom's parents told her that if she doesn't get the right offers, they would pay for her to move back to California (with us and dad of course) and help her get into a condo. There's a lot more law schools in southern California and it would help to be closer to her parents so they could help out with things. But dad has lived here his entire life and is understandbaly reluctant.

Do you ever wish the future would get here already so you knew what was going to happen?

Do you think if we moved to California other cats would judge us because of our southern accent?

It's Eliot and Percy's Furst Gotcha Day!!!

A year ago mommy and daddy decided it was time to add to their family. They went to Pets Inc. and saw a purty gray kitty and a big orange kitty, when the gray kitty reached his paw out for her, mama said she knew they were the ones. The took them home, and while may not live in this very apartment forever (momma and dadda hate it here), as long as mommy and daddy are around they will have a home with them.

Tonight we got very special dinners and very special nip. We love you Percy and Eliot!!! Happy Gotcha Day!!!

We were tagged my the wonderful Miss Daisy to do a meme about balance! So, we all got together to balance on our tree while we discussed balance in our lives!

To participate, write a post about balance in life and link back to this post. Answer any or all of the following questions or simply share your thoughts about life balance.

How do you achieve balance in your life?
Abbie - I balance all the time, I balance at the tippy top of the cat tree, I like to balance on top of the litterbox (it's curvy so it's hard to stand up there), I balance on the side of the tub while I snoopervise mommy's bath. What Eliot - oh, like balance all my activites... well, I find the best way to balance is do what I want to do until I'm told no.
Eliot - I find balance by taking ample time to meditate. I mediatate both to achieve peace and to solve problems.
Emily - I find my balance in my family time. During the day it's about birds and patrolling for bugs and getting my naps in, but at night I like to snuggle with mom and dad, that's the time when I feel safest and I'm most at peace.
Percy - Is this another diet question? I told you, I'm not fat, I'm just big bodied.

What is your biggest challenge in balancing your life?
Abbie - Um, being told no when I feel that I'm doing something that really needs to be done.
Eliot - Abbie running around disturbing my deep thoughts.
Emily - Knowing that there's buggies I could be chasing and eating somewhere.
Percy - The beans not not believeing me when I tell them that I need more dry food and I'm not fat, I'm the perfect size for a cat that weighs 19 pounds.

What are your priorities?
Abbie - Running around and keeping everyone alert, watching the kitchen, watching the bathroom, eating buggies, telling mom and dad what time meals are, naps and biting mommy's legs to get her to feed us more quickly.
Eliot - keeping the peace, quality time with my mom, solving problems with in the house like how doors work aand such and meditation through napping.
Emily - protecting mom and dad while they sleep, watching the birdies, patrolling for buggies, and keeping Abbie in line.
Percy - getting enough to eat and getting enough sleep, these things are pivitol in a healthy cat life, and I'm starving.

How have your priorities changed over time and why?
Abbie - Well, we all were previously shelter cats, my main priority used to be being cute to find a home, now my main priority is being cute so I don't get in trouble when I do something bad, oh and watching for buggies because I know mom hates them.
Eliot - My main priority was being cute to find a home as well, now my main prioritty is solving the problems of the house and trying to keep the peace. I also think it's very important to keep my mommy happy as she has been very stressed out lately.
Emily - My priorities have shifted drastically, first, it was get adopted, then it was all about bugs for a long time and keeping everyone on their toes. With the addition of Abbie, I have been able to slow down a bit. I still love to eat bugs, but now I spend night time with mommy and daddy. I like to make sure if my momma wakes up that I'm right there to purr forher and let her pet me and chase away the bad dreams. Daddy never wakes up, so if I'm not tending to momma, I'm keeping his feet warm, they are SO cold.
Percy - I too was focused on finding a home, and for a long time my focus was on my daddy, however now I spend so much time sucking in my belly to maybe be fed more dry food that I have very little energy to keep daddy's legs warm these days.

What advice can you share to help all of us balance our own lives?
Abbie - Chasing bugs is not olny good exercise but it also helps the whole house out!
Eliot - Taking time out to contemplate your problems makes life flow much more smoothly.
Emily - Good daytime napping is key to being a dutiful cat at night.
Percy - When you're starving, it's hard to be a productive cat, get enough to eat while you can, HIDE YOUR DRY FOOD.

My new favoritest place ever is the red couch. I guess I don't have to call it red since right now it's our only couch. Mom is kinda angry about the couch because she spent a lot of time and money finding the right couch with slip covers so she can change them every year or so and right after she bought the couch they discontinued the slipcovers. I think that's very rude.

I like the couch because I look like I have highlights in my fur when I lay on it. I can just curl up and look purrty while I watch Animal Planet. Where's your favorite place to stretch out?

Saturday Chores!

Hi everyone! My new sisfur Abbie and I have been helping momma and daddy with the chores hoping that that would mean more pets for us. Abbie loads the dishwasher while I mop the floor. It's tuff work, but we like to pull our weight.

Eliot has been making tons of updates to our site including a new profile picture and lots of blog roll names.

We do have some bad news, our momma did not get into her first choice law school. She was kinda upset at first, but we were our cutest and she's feeling better now. She told us we're probably going to be moving someplace 14 hours away by car called cannettee-cut - how long is 14 hours anyway and where is this cannettee-cut? Kind of sounds like it involves food.

Have any of you kitties moved real far? How did you move? My mom said she'll need to do lots of research before we move, so I thought I'd get all your guys's opinions to help her.

Tuesday Tails...

Hello everyone! I first want to thank all their kitties for their well wishes. My eye is doing much better. It's still leaky, but I open it all the way all the time. I sure do hate having that medicine squirted in my eye though. Mom thought I was mad at her because she's the one that squirts it in my eye, so I had to snuggle with her all night last night to let her know I know she's doing what's best for me.

Above is a picture of my tail next to my new sisfur's tail. I am quite a bit larger than her but her tail is even longer and fluffier than mine. I must say I'm very jealous. She's ok for a sisfur, at least she doesn't bunny kick me all the time like Emily. She likes to lay near me, which is cool I guess. Mom and dad say we're long lost twinsies, whatever that means.

Midnight Monday

Momma says I'm so dark it's hard to see how pretty I am. I sure do like my new home. My brother Eliot and I are long lost twinsies; we act so much alike. And I even really like Emily even though she doesn't seem to like me very much.

On Saturday I was very worried because my brother Eliot had to go to the vet. His eye was all swollen and leaky. My mom and dad were worried maybe I brought something home to him. Turns out it was just a scratch though, probably from Emily bunny kicking his head. They have to put this stuff right on his eyeball and he whines and makes them feel bad about it! I wouldn't much like having stuff put on my eyeball either though.

Other than that things are going great. I'm discovering all sorts of things and helping out by catching buggies. I love to fun and jump and play. And there's so many birdies outside, it's very exciting, escpecially when the windows are open. And it's so great meeting so many furry friends online to play with.

Wide Body Wednesday: Percy's on a Diet

So ever since mom and dad got that skinny new kitty, they have been sayin I need to go on a diet. I guess they have seen how skinny other kitties are and they want me to be more like a regular cat. But that's hard work... I don't really like to move around that much... besides, I'm not really fat, I'm just big-bodied.

But they kept pokin my belly and telling me I need to lose a few pounds, so I've finally accepted it. Now I have to eat yucky chicken 2 times a day. I don't eat much though, and I'd much rather be having my nice dry food whenever I want it, but I guess it can't hurt to lose a little weight.

Do I really look fat?

Introducing... Harper Abigail Stephens, and Midnight Mondays!

Hi to all you kitties, I'm Abbie and this is my first Midnight Monday post!

The man and woman adopted me from PetSmart a couple of nights ago. They really seem to like me. I like them a lot, it's the best to cuddle up with one of them and take a nice long nap! (They want me to call them mommy and daddy, but it seems a little soon for that...

There's this one cat here who looks just like me, except bigger and gray colored! I'm like his shadow. He's really nice to me - here we are hanging out together.

The woman says that she was looking for a buddy for Eliot, so I guess I can do that. He doesn't smell that bad, I guess, for a man cat.

Then there's the mean cat. Emily doesn't really like me, and hisses at me a lot. But the woman says Emily doesn't like anyone, and that if she's going to like anyone it'll be me eventually (she's a nice lady for saying that).

Big old Percy hissed at me some, then he decided I was okay. He still stares me down, though. That's okay because I just go up to him and sniff his head.

Mom's eye is all purpley today because she slipped and fell in the bathroom. I asked her why she didn't land on her feet like I would... duh! She and dad stayed home and petted me all day though, so that's good. I don't think she's hurt too bad. She just looks like a bathtub whacked her.

Oops, I went and called them mom and dad. I'm getting more used to it...

Hi efurrybody, Emily here - I'm just responding to my favorite man cat Shamy's quiz tag! Purrs and nose kisses, Shamy! XO

A) Four places we have lived:

Eliot and Percy lived at Pets Inc's shelter (before they got the nice new big red barn shelter that mommy and daddy go to every couple of weeks); that's where they said mommy and daddy adopted them. I lived at the PetSmart for a little while. Before that, we were all living in different places in the Outside (it was scary!). Now we all live with mommy and daddy in our apartment in Columbia, but we're moving soon - I wonder where?

B) Four things I love to watch: BUGS! I love bugs cause I can chase em. And there's birds outside that like to sit on the side of the apartment. I like to watch Animal Planet when Mom turns it on for me, and I watch Law and Order with her sometimes.

C) Four places I have been outside my home: In the box-with-a-door. I went to gramma's house a couple times. I went to see the scary lady at the vet. One time, my mom and dad put a string on me and tried to take me out but I got scared because it's the Outside, and that's scary.

D) Four websites I visit daily: Katnippia kitties' blog... especially SHAMY! ;*

G) Four toys I have owned and played with: My favorite thing in the world is the bright spot on the floor! When it comes out I go crazy. It's like a buggy I can never catch... I love my kitty tunnel. I like fevvers and bouncy balls.

H) Four nicknames my mom has tried to assign one of us: Emily Lou (sing it, like "Winnie the Pooh"). Percy is "the leg warmer" and Eliot is Hoodeeni cause he likes to try to escape and one time he scratched his way out of his box-with-a-door. Dad called me a demon cat one day, does that count?

I) Regarding Catnip: My name is Emily and I am a nipaholic. I'm a member of NA (Nipheads Anonymous) and I'm trying to overcome the addicshun.

J) Regarding Cat Grass: I dunno. Eliot really likes it. I like to sit on it.

K) First four things I'd buy after winning the lottery: A big house for mommy and daddy with a cat tree room, and it would have a big porch where I can watch the birdies. Yeah, and I'd buy a birdie. And one of those hamster things in PetSmart. Yum. And of course I'd get Shamy and me a round trip ticket to a nice island getaway, somewhere where they worship cats like the gods we know we are! :)

L) Four things I do besides eat, sleep, and litterbox: I like to run from one room to another as fast as I can go. I love watching TV with mommy! Bunnykicking Eliot in the head is fun. And I like hunting buggies.

M) Four things I want to do this summer: catch up on my sleeping, chase some butterflies, and pounce some lizards. Mom and dad are going to be moving - looks like I am too whether I want to or not.

N) My four most prized possessions that have limited value to anyone else: My mom's hand, my tunnel, my cat tree, my family!

O) What I’m going to do before tomorrow is over: Chase Eliot, eat about a cup of kibbles, forge my Russian Blue pedigree papers, take over the world.

P) Which of the following is your favorite place to hide and play? I like to hide in the old TV stand under the window - my soft blanky is under there. I also like my tunnel, my cat tree, and sitting under my daddy's feet.

Big News Coming!!!

And Beau! We love your blogs, it wouldn't be the same without you guys.

We will have a big announcement on Monday!

In an unrelated event, mom got her scores back and they were better but not as good as she was hoping for. But we're all very glad it's over and now we just wait and see what schools accept her. I think any school will be lucky to have her, she's the smartest mommy I have ever known!

Emily will be responding to Shamy's tag very soon; she's up in the cat tree pouting but she can't resist Shamy!

Thursday 13: Edition 3

Percy and Eliot went to the vet without me tonight. Why?! I wanted to go, but mommy and daddy made me get out of the box-with-a-door. But Percy said it was scary so I guess its good I didn't go! He made a Thursday 13 so everyone knows to run when your beans bring out the boxes!

13 things about the Vet

Mom and dad trick you into getting in the box with doors with a treat. I fall for it every time! I was so mad this time.

You have to get in the car. I hate the car!

The whole vet place smells like scaredy cat.

There's a big cat there, and we're stuck in a cage, but it gets to just walk around.

The lady pets you a lot and right when you think you like her, she stings you.

Then they hold you down and stick something under your tail, in your booty!

The lady flashes a really bright light at you, so bright you have to close your eyes.

The vet lady sticks a big long thing down your ear... I tried to squirm and get away but they got it all the way down there anyway.

They put you on your back and poke at your belly.

The vet lady feels all your guts--it felt so weird! It made me twitch.

The lady called me fat and said I had to go on a diet.

They mess up your fur: I still have vet smell on me, I can't get clean!

The worst part is, when you go with Eliot, he gets nervous and gassy and farts all stinky the whole time, the car ride there, in the waiting room, in the vet's room, and the car ride back!

Dang, Percy, that sucks! I remember going to the vet last time; I went by myself. It wasn't fun, but it sounds like he had it worse than I did. At least they didn't call me fat!

Tummy Tuesday - What I did today

At 6:30 I woke up, cause mommy's alarm rang and daddy moved and made me get off his feets. I got up and ate, and patiently waited until both of them were gone, and went back to sleep.

At 9:00 I got up and ate. I rolled the ball around a little bit, the I went back to sleep. This time, on the ball rolly thing.

At 12:00 mommy came home! I got some pets, and when she took a little nap I took one with her, on her feet.

At 1:00 she left. I kept her spot warm.

At 3:00 Eliot chased me off the bed! How rude! I'm still angry. I ate some food, and waited for Emily to chase him, then I went back to sleep.

At 5:00 mommy and daddy came home! I got pets, and went to sleep by Daddy's feet under the computer desk.

It's a busy life.

Hi effurryone!

Mama's test went fine she said, much better than last time when she lost all her thoughts and came back crying. However it's still a waiting for the score game - keep those paws crossed.

Emily and I are very much looking forward to our Valentine dates tonight. Percy will be staying home with his favorite ball. He's just not into the whole Valentine thing, hasn't found the right girl.

A word to lucy, I know I look a little wide in the photo beside, but I promise I am just fluffy. I've combed out my fur really good for you.

Emily went to the vet yesterday (she had a worm but it's all gone now, don't worry Shamy!) She wasn't feeling very good last night but tonight she's all kinds of excited about her furst date.

Thanks for all your good thoughts for my mom's exam, she really 'preciates it. See you kitties tonight!

Man Cat Monday featuring Percy the Tutor!

Hi effurryone - Percy here. We have been furry busy. Our mom is taking the LSAT on Saturday and we have been trying to keep her on track with her studying. Eliot has been helping me keep her on track as you can see, while Emily worries if any cat will ask her to be their Valentine. Please don't mind the unmade bed - there's no time for such non sense when she should be preparing every spare second. As you can see from the picture below I take my job as tutor the most serious.

I can't believe she's taking pictures when she should be studying!

Anyway, we're sorry we haven't been around so much. Emily wanted me to make sure all the boy cats knew she was still available for the big Valentine's party - as of now she's still going with Eliot. Eliot would like a nice girl cat to take but he's so shy.

So wish my mom lots of luck for Saturday and know that after that the Cats Stephens will be back with a growl!

Mom and dad are leaving us tonight to drive up to Virginia for some law school stuff for mom. They will only be gone one night but we will miss them lots. So this week all the cats Stephens will be participating in the Thursday Thirteen. I'll go first...

13 Things the Cats Stephens Do to Keep them Occupied While Mom and Dad are Away for a Night.
Eliot:
1. Sleep on mom's pillow
2. Play with bouncy balls, roll a few under the fridge so dad has something to do when he gets home
3. Scratch the arm rests of the computer chair so they know I'm not happy about being left
4. Defend myself against Emily's attacks
5. Look out the window for mom and dad to come home

Percy:
10. Sleep in daddy's spot to keep it nice and warm for him
11. Keep watch out the bedroom window for intruders and mom and dad's car
12. Hide under the bed when Emily attacks Eliot (I want no part of kitten play)
13. Keep a close eye on the water fountain to make sure it works properly

Emily:
6. Curl up in bed and watch animal planet
7. Patrol the house for buggies and rip their little legs off if I find one so mom and dad can see my kill when they get home

Thump-thump-thump and nip

What a weekend we have had! Friday night, the super-loud lady who listens to thump-thump-thump music REAL LOUD and makes our ears hurt had another one of her parties. Mom and dad went on a date - a date is when a mom and dad go someplace without the kitties - and got home just before 10pm to find a car in their marked parking spot. Dad wrote up a little note telling the person with nice pleases and thank-yous to please use the visitors' spots and if there are not any on this side of the complex then there are usually some on the other side. Well, at 10:20 there was this awful beating on the door and the thump-thump lady was yelling "I know you're in there, hello? ANSWER THE DOOR!" Momma and daddy were already getting ready for bed and were in their jammies. Daddy got dressed and mommy picked me up (Percy and Eliot ran under the bed when the lady started knocking cuz they're scaredy cats) while the lady yelled at them about how rude it was to her "companies" to leave a note on their car. Mom told the lady that she didn't know who the car belonged to. The lady told her she should have knocked on her door and asked, so mom said "I'm not going to knock on everyone's door at 10 o'clock at night to find out who is parked in my spot." The lady started to get real mad and dad told mom to be quiet, and things just got worse until the lady threw the note at dad and left. Mom called the apartment beans and complained about her, for all the things that she has been doing since she moved there. She has these parties at least once a month where she invites so many people over, they take up all the visitors spaces and then start taking people's spaces. And the music is just terrible. When we have other kitties over, we make sure that their humans use the right parking spaces, and we turn down animal planet after 10pm. The apartment beans told mom that they would send the thump-thump lady some letters regarding the complaints they have received about her, but that she should also file a police report for harassment - after two police reports have been filed she can get a restraining order. I just can't believe the lady came up and yelled so much because her guests parked in mom's spot - I mean, how rude.

We spent a lot of family time together this weekend. Mom has been having a hard time lately with how people treat her here, she says they aren't very nice. So on Saturday we all came out to the front room and did some nip - here are the pictures...

Thursday 13: Edition 2

Here I am in my really fun crinkle tunnel that my grandma gave me. It's super fun. I like it when mom and dad throw toys in it, or when they tease me with a feather while I'm in it. I also like to sneak in there and peek out the peep hole in the middle and scare Eliot. It's my favorite place to hide right now. I still sleep in my high-rise condo though - I find the view relaxing. So in honor of my super fun awesome tunnel, I'm going to list the funnest things to do ever for our Thursday 13.

Emily's 13 Funnest Things to Do Ever!

1. Sit on Percy and make him mad
2. Play with the fun circle the comes with the milk jug
3. Run through my tunnel really fast so it makes the crinkle noise
4. Hide in the tunnel and attack people as they walk by
5. Play with the big bird feathers
6. Watch the birdies through the window or on Planet's Funniest Animals (I love to watch TV)
7. Walk across the lappy top while momma is working on her law school essays
8. Stalk Eliot and bunny kick him shortly after attack
9. Try to open the cabinets in the kitchen just as mom and dad are falling asleep
10. Look for buggies, eat the medium sized ones, paw at the little ones and follow the big ones around
11. Chase Eliot up the cat tree
12. Run from the front room to the back room a million times as fast as I can
13. Sleep in the middle of mom and dad and get lots of pets at 4am (this is really good when it's cold)

Ooh, there's a buggie - gotta go.
